As opposed to the semi-rigid integral foams, the parts manufactured with this group of systems do not have any characteristic outer skin. Semi-rigid foams are mainly used for manufacturing finished products by the foam-injection method. Important applications are the production of dashboards and the interior trim of automobiles.
The transition to flexible foams on the one hand and to rigid foams on the other cannot be clearly defined.
